Do you feel like you haven’t performed well on the SAT®, and do you desperately wish those scores were gone? Don’t worry! The good news is that it’s definitely possible to cancel your scores, but it requires quick action. In this post, I’ll cover the necessary steps to cancel an SAT® score you don’t feel too confident about.
Note: Before you take further steps, know that once you submit a form for your score to be canceled, you cannot have it restored. So think carefully before moving forward!
Plan A: At the Testing Center
If you’ve just finished the exam and you already have a horrible gut feeling, you can immediately request to cancel your score. Simply approach the proctor and ask for a Request to Cancel Test Scores form. Fill it out, sign your name, and then return it. You should be good to go!
Plan B: At Home
So you’ve headed home and after dwelling upon the SAT® you just took, you realize that you actually want to cancel your score. You have two options: download the SAT® Request to Cancel Test Scores form or manually write out your request. If you opt to write your request, you must include the following information: date of test, test center number, name of test to be cancelled, full name, sex, address, registration number, birthday, and your signature.
The deadline to cancel your scores is by 11:59 PM Eastern Time on the Wednesday after the administered exam. Students with disabilities receive an extended deadline, which is the Monday one week after the test.
How to Send the Form
Finally, you can send your form through two ways. The first is to fax it to 610-290-8978. The other method is to utilize the overnight delivery option:
If you’re using overnight delivery via U.S. Postal Service Express Mail (United States only), use this address:
Attention: SAT® Score Cancellation
P.O. Box 6228
Princeton, NJ 08541-6228.
If you’re using a different overnight service (United States or international), use this address:
Attention: SAT® Score Cancellation

Ewing, NJ 08618.
Remember: whichever method you choose to send your cancellation form, you must use the label “Attention: SAT® Score Cancellation.”
